Eula Mae Pettigrew
Eula Mae Pettigrew, age 88, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, formerly of Golden, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith.
She was born May 7, 1931 in Viola, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Vera Mae (Roush) Allen. On June 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to James Porter Pettigrew who preceded her in death on July 4, 1995. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters and one brother.
Surviving are one son, Mike Pettigrew of Greenwood, Arkansas; one daughter, Cindy Jo Grandon of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three grandchildren, James Michael Pettigrew, Wesley Kyle Pettigrew and Joseph Lee Grandon; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Eula Mae grew up and received her education in Blue Eye where she graduated from high school. For many years she worked as a housekeeper for the Officers at Fort Chaffe in Fort Smith from which she semi-retired when it closed. Later she went on to work as a housekeeper for Mercy Crest Hospital in Fort Smith. She was a member of Cavanaugh Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2019 at McGuire Cemetery in Viola, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Pastor Tony Ball will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob.
