Eva May Lyngar
Eva May Lyngar, age 88, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away July 29, 2020.
Eva May born September 14, 1931 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Paul H. and Frances Scott Shaner.
After graduating from Topeka High School, she went to Washburn University for 2 1/2 years. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Dale Lyngar on June 7th, 1951. Eva was preceded in death by her loving husband.
They moved to Flint, Michigan in 1951 where Charles went to General Motors Institute of Technology as a cooperative engineer sponsored by Fisher Body Flint #1 Plant. He graduated in 1955. Eva became a stay at home mother in 1952. They moved to Mahopac, NY in 1956 and then to Raytown, Missouri in 1959. After Charles retired from General Motors in 1981, they moved to their lake home in Shell Knob, Missouri.
Eva and Charles were blessed with eight children. The oldest is Frank (Nancy) of KC. The second son is Gary (Gretchen) of Lee’s Summit, the youngest son is Michael (Shelly) of KC. They had five daughters in order, Charlene Tade (Tony) of Shell Knob, Karen Dix (Greg) of KC, Susan Luker (Jack) of Naples, FL, Donna Trader (Mark) of Miramar Beach, FL, and Paula Cosentino of Lee’s Summit. They have 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Eva loved life and her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, playing duplicate bridge in Shell Knob, and was a homemaker who enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Shell Knob. She was warm and friendly to all. She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob.
