Francis Joseph “Cass” Cassidy
Francis Joseph “Cass” Cassidy, age 67, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.
He was born February 25, 1952 in Dallas, Texas the son of Michael Joseph and Helen (Konec) Cassidy. On April 20, 1985 in Kansas City, Missouri he was united in marriage to Anita “Jeannette” Peery, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Timothy David Malone and his wife Julie of Shell Knob, Missouri and Christopher John Malone and his wife Kelley of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Elizabeth Joy Reily and her husband Michael of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Elaine Cassidy of Cameron, Missouri and Patricia Slover of Gardner, Kansas and twelve grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Michael Andrew Cassidy and one sister, Rose Ann Cassidy.
Francis graduated from De La Salle High School in Kansas City, Missouri and then attended Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City. For thirty-two years he was employed as a dye cutter at Tension Envelope in Kansas City. In 2015 he moved from Independence, Missouri to Shell Knob to make his home. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Independence and Eagles Lodge in Shell Knob. He was a founding member of the “Crappiethon Troop”, a talented group known for fishing and beer. He also enjoyed going on vacations and was “The Shuffleboard Aficionado”. More than anything he loved his family; his dogs and Fox News Network.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Reverend William Hodgson will conduct the services. Rosary will be prior to services. Burial will be at McCullough Cemetery in Viola.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob.
