Francis “Leroy” Pugh

Francis “Leroy” Pugh, age 80, of Verona, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 at Bentonview Park Health and Rehabilitation in Monett, Missouri.

He was born June 2, 1939 in Barry County, the son of Arthur and Bertha (Pryor) Pugh. On July 11, 1957 he was united in marriage to Loretta Craig, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dewayne Pugh of Monett, Missouri, Lynn Pugh and his wife Carolyn of St. Peters, Missouri and Kenny Pugh of Warrenton, Missouri; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Winfred and Virgil.

Leroy grew up in Barry County and attended school at Victory School. For many years he enjoyed ministering throughout the Midwest. The last church he pastored was Merl’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Cassville, Missouri. Some of the things he enjoyed was carpentry work, fishing and coon hunting.

Services for Francis “Leroy” Pugh, age 80, of Verona will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Ronnie Howerton and Pastor Wyatt Howerton will conduct the services. Burial will be at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Cassville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Saturday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to Mineral Springs Cemetery in memory of Leroy.
