Frank John Magula
Frank John Magula, age 91, of Shell Knob, Missouri, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his home.
He was born December 3, 1928 in Kalida, Ohio, the son of Frank John and Anna (Damian) Magula. On Jan 4, 1964 in San Diego, California, he was united in marriage to Polly Whitney, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Philip John Magula of Ocean View, Hawaii; one daughter, Julia Elizabeth McNally; four grandchildren, Kenneth McNally, Elizabeth McNally, Katie Magula and Nicole Sherfy and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers and five sisters.
Frank grew up and received his education in Ohio. On December 27, 1950 he joined the United States Air Force, serving until November 14, 1954. Later he moved to San Diego where he met Polly and they raised their family. For many years he worked as a pipefitter for Federal Civil Service. After their children were grown, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home and visiting with friends. In 2003 they settled in Shell Knob and made their home.
Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and gardening. He was a man who never met a stranger, loved visiting with people showing and sharing his faith. As an adult he accepted Jesus as his Savior. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Shell Knob, where he held multiple positions.
Memorial services with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Pastor Bob Gaddis will conduct the services.
