Fred "Hobo Dan" Daniel Eckley
Fred “Hobo Dan” Daniel Eckley, age 68, passed peacefully on May 1, 2019, at home in Forsyth, Missouri. He was born in Orange County, California, on March 29, 1951. He is preceded in death by his parents: Barbara (Ford) Ratcliff and Lawrence Ratcliff and a brother, Steven Ratcliff.
On February 14, 1998, he was joined in marriage to Cathy Jean Davis. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Jean Eckley; four children: Mischelle (Jim) Milton of Texas, Balynda Eckley of California, Amanda and Chase of Texas, and Andrew Eckley of Texas; four stepchildren: Dina Still of Texas, Daniel Still of Wisconsin, Jason Martz of California, and Stephen Hickey of Texas; 25 grandchildren; three sisters: Joy (Skip) Williams of Tennessee, Darlene Doughtey of California, and Susan (Fred) Shafer of Colorado; a brother, Martin Eckley of California; and many nieces and nephews.
Hobo loved to sing and was loved by many. He will be remembered for his voice and kind heart. Hobo was an entertainer at the Branson Mall and the Coffelts as well as a performer at the American Veterans Post 78 in Rockaway Beach on Fridays. He performed on The Gong Show. Many friends were like family to Hobo and will miss him dearly. Hobo also served our country in the U.S. Army.
