Gene Alan Lamb
Gene Alan Lamb, son of Bill and Carolyn was born October 6, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK and departed this life on May 3, 2019, at the age of 73.
Gene lived a short while in Big Springs, TX in 1958-59 after his parents were transferred. He played baseball and was one of the best pitchers in Texas in the Little League Series. Moving back to Oklahoma City, Gene attended Putnam City High School, lettered in football, and graduated in 1962.
In 1967, Gene joined the Army, which took him to Tigerland, the renowned boot camp in Fort Polk, LA. Because his younger brother Larry was in Vietnam, Gene went to Korea and was later stationed in Germany. Gene served his country for seven and a half years, with honorable discharge in 1974.
Over the years, while in Oklahoma City, Gene spent free time working as a high school and college football referee. He was a proud Papa to his three grandsons, of which they shared his passion for football and baseball.
Gene joined the Kimberling City Elks Lodge 2505 on November 19, 2003. He served with pride as Exalted Ruler 2010-2011, District Deputy Southwest District 2017-2018 and was just installed at Exalted Ruler 2019-2020.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Carolyn Lamb and loving partner, Sandy Bezousek.
Survivors include: two sons, Brian Lamb and wife, Sue of Plano, TX and Dustin Lamb and wife, Kristi of Frisco, TX; brother, Larry Lamb and wife, Patricia of Allen, TX; three grandchildren, Brett, Ryan and Hayden; one nephew and three nieces, Wes, Heather, Lauren and Kelly and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in United Methodist Church, Kimberling City with Clif Crockett officiating. Following the service, refreshments will be served at the Kimberling City Elks Lodge # 2505, 37 Beach Avenue, Kimberling City, MO 65686. Military honors will be rendered at 1:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ENF Fund at the Elks Lodge.
