Gene Roy Cole Sr.
Gene Roy Cole Sr., age 76, of Marshall, Arkansas, passed away January 9, 2020, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born January 20, 1943, to Lonnie Albert and Vella Mae (Knox) Cole in Roswell, New Mexico. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
During his working years, Gene was an auto mechanic. An expert in his trade, Gene was often found working on cars and trucks at work and at home. The great outdoors was his retreat, whether hunting or fishing. With a heart for the Lord, Gene attended church as much as he was able. A true family man, “Papa” was known for spoiling his grandkids, who he dearly loved. Family and friends will deeply miss Gene and are blessed by the legacy he left.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Vella Mae Cole; wife, Margaret Cole; three brothers: Bobby Cole, Sam Cole, and Alan Ray Davis; three sisters: Peggy Allensworth, Hazel Cole, and Pearl Luciato; and two great-grandchildren: Kylie Hendrix and Isaiah Spiva.
He is survived by daughter, Ula (Steve) Rowe of Yellville, Arkansas; son, Franklin Cole of Marshall, Arkansas; daughter Tina (Thomas) Oliver of Millersburg, Indiana; son, Gene (Teresa) Cole Jr. of Marshall, Arkansas; son, Roy (Beth) Cole of Maryville, Tennessee; son, Clinton (Marie) Cole of Marshall, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren: Tom, Penny, Janeen, T.J., Andy, Levi, Hunter, Matthew, Mia, Carlee, Lucas, and Austin; and nine great-grandchildren: Zachary, Daven, Logan, Kenny, Colton, Tommie, Kaine, Walker, and Keegan. He is also survived by three brothers: Fred (Jackie) Cole of New Hampshire, Jimmy (Diana) Cole of Texas, and Jack (Donna) Cole of Texas; three sisters: Christine (James) Davis of Texas, Shirley Allensworth of Texas, and Barbara (Dale) Warren of Marshall, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; and fiancé, Greta Oliver of Marshall, Arkansas.
