Grant James VanVeldhuizen
Grant James VanVeldhuizen, age 42, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away April 7, 2020, at home. He entered this life July 12, 1977, in Orange City, Iowa, the son of Edwin VanVeldhuizen and Wanda (Altena) Brisco and stepson of Verlin Brisco, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents: Edwin and Wanda; and maternal grandfather, Sentner Altena.
Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
Grant was a contractor for air and heating by trade but in his off time he was an avid outdoorsman, finding places to fish and hike. Most often, you could find him camping on the Buffalo River in Arkansas. When not adventuring outdoors, Grant was singing with his close family and friends in the First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir in Harrison, Arkansas. He will be greatly missed and is now singing with heavenly choirs.
He is survived by his brother, Brett (Alexandra) Hendrickson of Easton, Pennsylvania; niece, Elizabeth Hendrickson of Easton, Pennsylvania; two nephews: Thomas and David Hendrickson of Easton, Pennsylvania; stepfather, Jr Brisco of Pyatt, Arkansas; grandmother, Ladene Altena of Rogers, Arkansas; aunt, Cindy (Rich) Richardson of Garfield, Arkansas; aunt, Evonne (Gerrit) Rozeboom of St. Joe, Arkansas; uncle, Michael (Belinda) Altena of Rock Valley, Iowa; cousin, Lanette (Tim) DenHollander of Harrison, Arkansas; cousin, Kryna (Bert) Pohl of Harrison, Arkansas; cousin, Aaron (Meg) Rozeboom of Springfield, Missouri; cousin, Kelsey (Taylor Davis) Johnson of Seligman, Missouri; cousin, Miranda Johnson of Jane, Missouri; cousin, Sarah Richardson of Garfield, Missouri; cousin, Marcus (Ashley) Altena of Rock Valley, Iowa; and cousin, Jamie (Dallas) Granstra of Sheldon, Iowa.
