Harry Paul Vander Ploeg Jr.

Harry Paul Vander Ploeg Jr., age 84, of Ridgedale, Missouri, passed away February 14, 2021. He entered this life December 28, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Harry Vander Ploeg Sr. and Genevie (Perkins) Vander Ploeg, who have preceded him in death. Harry was joined in marriage on October 26, 1963 to Laurinda Cuprak.

Proudly serving our country, Harry served in the United States Air Force, where he became a part of their boxing team. During the time of Hurricane Katrina, Harry and his wife, Laurinda, were certified Coast Guard Auxiliary, assisting those in need in New Orleans, Louisiana. Harry worked for Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri, as Marina Manager. One of Harry's greatest passions was time on the water, where he could be found sailing and boating on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Harry is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Laurinda Vander Ploeg; son, Paul (Lisa) Vander Ploeg of Connecticut; and daughter, Debra (Ron) Brindley of Indiana.

A service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri, at a later time. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
