Helen Margaret Koski
Helen Margaret Koski, age 93, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home Monday May 11, 2020. She entered this world June 15, 1926, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Mable (Rynearson) Grafton. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
With a giving and tender heart, Helen dedicated her last years to loom knitting hats for both children and adults and gave them to missions and were sent all over the world. It was her “mission” to help those in need. Before moving to the Ozarks, Helen and her husband owned two dime stores first in Kansas and then in Nebraska. She was a seamstress on the side making draperies, formal gowns and suits for both her family and professionally for others. She loved to fish and be outdoors with her husband and then with her son. Her dachshund dogs were always an important part of her life. Helen was a great wife, mother, and grandmother. With all her heart, she loved her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck Koski; son, Allen Koski; brothers: Austy, Joe, Tony, Billy, and Richard Grafton; and sister, Virginia Grafton.
Helen is survived by her two sons: Steven (Maria Cammarata) Koski of Pleasant Hills, California, and Jerry (Paula) Koski of Amarillo, Texas; daughters: Christine (Jerry) Colborn of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Deborah Heinrich of Palmview, Texas; daughter-in-law, Jessel Koski of Hollister, Missouri; sister, Gracie Doolittle of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside memorial service for family and friends will be planned for a later time in southwest Kansas. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
