Huey “Verdayne” Stockton

Huey “Verdayne” Stockton, age 78, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cassville, Missouri.
He was born November 3, 1941 in Shell Knob, Missouri, the son of Olen and Cleta “Marie” (Matthews) Stockton. On January 7, 1961 in Independence, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Laurel Click, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, David Stockton and his wife Julie of Republic, Missouri and Paul Stockton and his wife Jodi of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Dayna Grell and her husband Scott of Cassville, Missouri and Elinda “Carol” Dennis and her husband John of Estes Park, Colorado; one sister, Judy Reed and her husband Larry of Raytown, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Calvin and Dewey and one sister, Erma.
Verdayne grew up and received his education in Shell Knob. For many years he was a supervisor and worked in the fabrication department at Wells Aluminum in Cassville, from which he retired. After retirement he enjoyed raising cattle and working on the farm. Some of his favorite pastimes were riding horses and counting his cows. He was a member of Grace Community Church and later attended Assembly of God in Shell Knob.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Carroll Williamson will conduct the services. Burial will be at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
