James “Clyde” Burnette
James “Clyde” Burnette, age 81, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation.
He was born October 29, 1938 in Washburn, Missouri the son of Harry Ottis and Ollie (Ford) Burnette. On June 16, 1962 in Exeter, Missouri he was united in marriage to Janie “Bernice” Edmonson, who preceded him in death on April 3, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son, James Lee Burnette; five brothers, Jack, Bill, Glenn “Murt”, Kenny and Ray Burnette; two sisters, Pauline Schell and Mabel Cope and a son-in-law, Jeff Horner.
Surviving are three daughters, Tammy Teresa Burnette, Nancy Ann Horner and Rhonda Kayleen Curtis and her husband Seamus all of Cassville, Missouri; one brother, Bobbie Burnette of Cassville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Samantha Cosper and her husband Drew, Melissa Burnette, Trevor Tanner, Trenton Tanner and James Curtis and two great grandchildren, Garron Tanner and Ryker Cosper.
Clyde grew up and received his education in Washburn, Missouri. For several years he worked at various jobs and for forty-one years he drove a truck for Loren Rose. Playing bingo was his favorite pastime. His greatest joy in life was being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 25, 2020 at Washburn Prairie Cemetery under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Chaplain Jack Betts will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
