James “Jim” Alan Lowrey

James “Jim” Alan Lowrey, age 82, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away October 30, 2020. He entered this world September 14, 1938, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, the son of George and Ruth (Plymate) Lowrey, who have preceded him in death.

A deeply devoted Christian, Jim attended Closer Walk United Methodist Church in Ridgedale, Missouri, each time the doors were open and participated in Bible study each Wednesday. While living in California, he could be found deep sea fishing off the coast or watching sports most weekends. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961, from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, with his major area of study in Forestry. Jim was a manager for retail stores and advanced to being the buyer. He influenced many lives over the years that will continue to be a testament to his way of life. He will be dearly missed.

Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan (Handelman) Lowrey; three stepsons: Stephen Lowrey of Hollister, Missouri; Howard Lowrey of Fremont, California; and Neal Hoffman of Branson, Missouri; grandson, Samuel Lowrey of Long Beach, California; brother, David (Bertha) Lowrey of Whittier, California; and sister, Debbie (Mike) Marjanen of Livingston, Montana.
