James L. Pilant

James L. Pilant, age 81, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett, Missouri.

He was born May 11, 1940 in Cassville, Missouri the son of Aubrey and Virgie (Edie) Pilant who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were two wives, Wilma J. Riddle and Roberta Pilant; two brothers, Charles and Harold “Bud” and one sister, Sue Casner.

Surviving are one son, Lance Pilant of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Debra Nickle and her husband Bruce of Cassville, Missouri and one brother, Ronnie Pilant and his wife Sheilyn of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jared, Jordan and Jameson Ellis and Nina and Mark Pilant and eight great grandchildren, John, Jericho, Jace, Jerimiah, Jaylen, Ryder, Remy, and Lakyn.

James grew up and received his education in Cassville, Missouri, graduating from Cassville High School. He was a lifetime resident of Barry County and was employed by Blalack-Koon Chevrolet in the body shop for many years and later by Barry Electric Cooperative as a construction foreman, electrician and lineman. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Pilant Cemetery in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Milford Baker will conduct the services.

A Celebration of Life after the service will be held at Bruce and Debbie Nickle’s, 10520

McGruder Blvd.
