James Parfet

Jim was born on Saturday, November 27, 1937 in Lakeside, CA, to Milton and Dorothy Parfet. Milton was a chicken and turkey rancher all his life, where he lived and grew up on the family ranch with his younger sister Marilee.

Jim loved animals, and he himself raised many exotic birds for many years when he lived in Jamul, CA. Jim was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors. Other hobbies he enjoyed were stone cutting and polishing, jewelry making, and prospecting.

During his later High School years, Jim worked for a jewelry manufacturer, where he honed his skills in jewelry making and stone polishing. After Jim graduated from High School, he drove cross country trucks for a time, then he began working in construction, and soon became an adept Heavy Equipment Operator. In the 1970’s he began operating construction cranes, an occupation he thoroughly enjoyed and continued to work at until retiring officially at eighty years of age.

Jim is survived by his wife Maggie; two sons, Don and Steve Parfet; one step-son, Arturo Garcia-Wilkes; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
