Jerald “Jerry” Hayes

Jerald “Jerry” Hayes, Kimberling City, MO, son of Oya and Lois (King) Hayes, was born August 4, 1937 in Okemah, OK and departed this life on July 1, 2020 at the age of 82.


Jerry had been a resident of the area for twenty-eight years coming from Brownstown, IL. He was a member of First Baptist Church Kimberling City, MO. He served his country in the United States Army.

Jerry had a passion for fishing and greeting friends and neighbors and he loved his best buddy, Sadie.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Trad Warren Hayes; daughter, Terri Renee Hayes; two brothers, James Hayes and Jack Hayes; sister, Sandra Ansivino; and two nephews, Tim Ansivino and John Gillespie.

Survivors include: his wife of almost sixty years, Catherine “Cathy” Hayes, Kimberling City, MO; sister, Patricia Townsley of Johnston City, IL; sister-in-law, Sue Hayes of Edmond, OK; nephews, Chad Bayles and wife, Elizabeth of Flora, IL, Brent Bayless and wife, Abby of Vandalia, IL; Brian Bayles and wife, Lisa of Fillmore, IL, Jamie Hayes and wife, Donetta of Harrisburg, IL, Chris Gillespie of TX, P.W. Hayes and wife, Jamie of Oklahoma City, OK; great nephews, Clark Bayles and special friend, Morgan Vanderlinde of Plainville, IN, Ryan Bayles of Decauter, IL and Ethan Bayles of Vandalia, IL; nieces, Stacy Hayes of Harrisburg, IL, Chandra Hanna and husband, Sean of Edmond, OK and Krisa Phillips of Edmond, OK; great nieces, Brooke Bayles of Flora, IL and Morgan Cripe of Vandalia, IL and special friends, Jo Ellen Frailey, Bob and Vicki Buzzard, Lance and Krystn Buzzard, Jack and Sondra Rogers, Mike and Andrea Rau and Kurt Roth.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Kimberling City, MO with Jeff Hardy officiating. The family request donations go to First Baptist Church of Kimberling City, MO.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.
