Jimmie Norman, age 83, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
He was born July 18, 1936 in Aurora, Missouri the son of John and Lorres (Davis) Norman. On May 21, 1988 he was united in marriage to Patricia Florence Baker, who preceded him in death on May 17, 2019. Also preceding him in death were his parents and first wife, Sue.
Surviving are one step-son Randy Lynn Baker and his wife Helen of White Pigeon, Michigan and one brother–in-law Donald LaChappell and his wife Joanne of Clifton, Illinois.
Jimmie grew up and received his education in Aurora where he graduated high school. From March, 1956 until September, 1957 he served in the United States Navy. For several years he owned and operated an excavation company. Later, after moving to Shell Knob fifty plus years ago, he owned and operated Ozark Mountain Water Company.
Jimmie was a member of the Shriners, Lions Club, Eagles Club and was involved in numerous Bass Tournaments. He was a member of First Christian Church in Shell Knob.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 5, 2020 at First Christian Church in Shell Knob under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Pastor Tom Rees will conduct the services. Burial will be at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until service time Friday at First Christian Church in Shell Knob.
