Johnny Gale Tolbert

Johnny Gale Tolbert was born October 8, 1940 to Floyd Earl Tolbert and Marie Agnes “Peggy” Pendergrass in Reeds Spring, Stone County, Missouri. He passed away August 18, 2020 at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 10 days at Mercy Hospital Springfield, Missouri surrounded by his family.

Johnny and Rosemary were married on March 31, 1961 in Crane, Missouri. He retired from the City of Branson Public Works as a mechanic. Johnny was a member of Keystone Assembly of God in Reeds Spring, Missouri.

Johnny’s first love was his sweetheart Rosemary. He had a passion for singing gospel music that he passed down to his granddaughters and great granddaughters. John was always buying, selling, trading, or fixing on a vehicle. In which we referred to as “Car Fever”. In his younger years, he would drag race and accumulated several trophies. He loved the 57 Chevy Bel-Aire and Corvettes, anything that would drive fast. He was a life-long resident of Reeds Spring.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary, parents, daughter Tina Denise Tolbert, four brothers Kennith, Billy, James & Roy and one sister Tammy.

Survivors include three daughters. Angela Gail Tolbert & Rodney Anderson of Omaha, AR. Lesa Dawn Biggs & Steve Biggs of Branson West, Mo, and Sunday Marie Tolbert of Reeds Spring, Mo. Five grandchildren, Andrew Charles Phillips & wife Nicole Alexandria of Anchorage, AK, Sammantha Marie Harris & husband Jeff of Omaha, AR, Ashley Dawn Pollard & husband AJ of Lampe, MO, John Tuff Anderson of Omaha, AR & Kacie Leah Fitzjerrells & husband Jeremy of Mount Vernon IL. Six great grandchildren Madison Dawn Rose Pollard, Conner Joseph Pollard, Shelby Christine Pollard, Cason Allen Pollard of Lampe, Mo, Blake David Harris of Omaha, AR, & Ethan Scott Fitzjerrells of Mount Vernon, IL. Five brothers Raymond of Crane, Mo, Rodger of Reeds Spring, Mo, Jackie of Cape Fair, Mo, Bob of Reeds Spring, Mo, & Andy of Shell Knob, Mo. Four sisters Virginia Rosencrans of Reeds Spring, Mo, Nancy Murray of Crane, Mo, Brenda Pace of Herndon, VA, & Sherri Peck of Reeds Spring, Mo and a host of extended family.

Graveside Services will be held at Yocum Pond Cemetery on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Barnes officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.
