Joyce “Jo” Caroline Hammond

Joyce “Jo” Caroline Hammond, age 73, of Merriam Woods, Missouri, passed away April 21, 2021, in Branson, Missouri. She entered this life March 8, 1948, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Kenneth and Joyce (Moore) Ralston.

A wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend: Jo was always looking out for those around her. She could be found cooking, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren. Jo was very community-minded and held many officer positions in Eastern Star, served in Civil Air Patrol, volunteered in the Red Cross, became a Girl Scout leader, and took care of others around her. She worked at Silver Dollar City for many years in various positions. Jo has left a legacy for family and friends to remember and carry forward. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Cozette Davis and Kathy Ralston; brother, Arthur Ralston; and great-granddaughter, Annabelle Richey.

Jo is survived by four daughters: Joyce (Darrell) Richey of Leeton, Missouri; Emma (Steve) Holem of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Betsy (Charlie) Johnson of Independence, Missouri; and Kenna Hammond of Merriam Woods, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren; three sisters: Linda Ralston of Salt Lake City, Utah; Denise Stout of Independence, Missouri; and Dianna (Joe) Streetman of Fort Worth, Texas; along with many other friends and extended family.
