Judy Brickey Gregson
A Celebration of Life for Judy Gregson, 79, of Ridgedale, will be held at 2 p.m. January 19, 2020, at Oakmont Community Center in Ridgedale.
She died January 9, 2020, at home, surrounded by family.
She was born March 23, 1940, in Santa Ana, CA, daughter of Addie Smith and Sidney Cecil Brickey. She was a singer and songwriter in her youth. She moved to Missouri as a child and later lived in Benton, Little Rock; and Searcy, Arkansas; and Dallas. She returned to Missouri in 2010 after losing her home in a flood to be near her daughter. She was known for her Judy cakes, lemon cakes, fudge, and home canned green beans, purple hull peas and chow chow, which she shared with everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; three brothers: Bud, Donald and Jerry; sister, Jenny Garner; and son-in-law, Alan Shaw.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Soto and husband, Russell; grandchildren: Sharrell Shaw, Lauren Tandon and Russell Soto; brother, Bert Brickey; three great-grandchildren: Austin, Jourdan Ariana, and Davyn; two great-great-granddaughters: Kara and Amyia; and numerous family and friends.
Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
