Lenna Virginia (Garrison) Smith
Lenna Virginia (Garrison) Smith, age 93, daughter of Riley Ransom Garrison and Burley Artiley (Beasley) Garrison was born September 13, 1927 in Raymondville, Missouri. She was one of 13 siblings. She passed away on May 14, 2021 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Glenda Smith of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two grandchildren; Cynthia Bennett and husband Josh of Nixa, Missouri and Dr. Rebecca Clayberg and husband Phillip of Mountain Home, Arkansas; four great grandchildren; Brynlee Bennett of Nixa, Missouri, Easton Clayberg of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Ronald Clayberg of Dover, Delaware and Melissa Clayberg of Lynn Haven, Florida; two great-great grandchildren; Ky’Aire Bratten of Lynn Haven, Florida and Maquelah Clayberg of Lynn Haven, Florida; one sister-in-law, Edith McKinney of Houston, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings and both of her sons, Ricky Ray Smith and Michael Kim Smith.
Lenna grew up and attended school in Raymondville. Later she got her GED. Lenna married Ray John Smith on November 18, 1950 in Hardy, Arkansas. They had two sons. Lenna was a homemaker not only caring for her disabled son his entire life, but also helping raise several of her siblings children. They lived in Houston, Missouri for 13 years, then moved to Cassville, Missouri in 1964. Then when her husband passed she moved to Fulton, Missouri with her sons and then in March of 2021 when her last son died, she moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas with her granddaughter. She was a member of the Raymondville Baptist Church. After moving to Cassville, she became a member of the Butterfield Baptist Church, then upon moving to Fulton, MO, she became a member of Richland Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member of her church, singing in the choir and serving her Lord faithfully. She has now gone to be with her Lord and Savior and is able to be in heaven with her family that went before her and in the presence of her Heavenly Father. Lenna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. To many, she was the strongest woman they knew.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend David Eaton will conduct the services. Burial will be at Boone Creek Cemetery in Licking, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 AM Saturday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
