Lester Albert Berreth

Lester Albert Berreth died June 15, 2019 at the age of 76 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO in Greene County surrounded by family.

Lester was born August 6, 1942 in Eureka SD in McPherson County to Albert and Rosie (Kautz) Berreth of Artas SD.

He received his education at Herreid High School graduating with the class of 1960.  Lester enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 (August of 1960 - August of 1966 with a rank of AMS3 (E-4).

Lester married Victoria Elaine Rieger on September 27, 1964 at the Artas UM Church, Artas SD and to this union three children were born Shelly, Dawn and Kelly.

Lester and Vickie made their home in Wichita KS where Lester worked as an inspector at Boeing.  He was at that job for over 20 years.

In December, 2002 they moved to Shell Knob, MO to help his daughter and son-in-law Kelly Forsythe to help at Big Creek Resort.  Lester also was a great handy man.  Lester took great pride in his work, was a naturalist at inventing things and always very organized.  His shop was always in tip top shape.  He loved his family and took great pride in teaching his grandchildren how to be productive citizens.

Survivors include his wife Victoria of 54 years, daughter Shelly and Brian Popovich of Wichita, KS, daughter Dawn and Kelly Forsythe of Shell Knob, MO and son Kelly and Sandy Berreth of Wichita, KS.  Also six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.  Special friends George and Barb Dickerson.  Two sisters Patricia Allen and (Dennis Lemmon) of Gering NE and Rose Andersen and (Wendell Malsam) of Pierre, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Bernice and Janice, brothers in law, Bob Brick, Dave Andersen, Gary Allen and Stanley Weinzirl, one nephew Dwight Weinzirl and one son-in-law Danny Ivey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, June 21, 2019 at Fohn Funeral Home 27758 State Hwy 39, Shell Knob, MO.

Visitation will be from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.
