Lilian Patricia Stephens

Lilian Patricia Stephens, known by all as Pat, came into this world on January 17, 1946 in Banbury, England. She met her future husband, Wesley, on a US military base near her home town, and she soon started an adventure that would lead her to the USA. And though she remained British, her accent grew fainter with each passing year Stateside.

Pat and Wes began their journey in Banbury where daughter Joanne was born. The Air Force took them to Utah where daughter Tammy was born, and then to North Dakota where daughter Erica was born. They continued their military journey living in Germany, then several states from Massachusetts to sunny Florida, where they retired, until the hurricanes ran them back to the 100+ year old family homestead in Washburn, Missouri, where they both worked tirelessly to build their cozy log cabin. Pat’s adventurous spirit led her to embrace her adoptive country by exploring it from coast to coast with Wes, on a motorcycle with a tent and sleeping bags strapped to the back.

She left this world on October 22, 2020, surrounded by her family in Washburn after a lifetime of travel and friendships. She is remembered for her spirit, her thoughtfulness, and her deep love of hummingbirds. She is survived by her husband of 55+ years Wesley Stephens, three daughters Joanne Brown, Tammy Stephens, Erica Poole, four grandchildren Bailey, Taylor, Dalton, Rileigh, and two great-grandchildren Sailor, Micah.

A celebration of life in honor of Pat will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
