Mary E. Meyer
Mary E Meyer (nee Crouch), 92, of Branson, Missouri, was born in North Dupo, Illinois. Passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020, after a long illness with Alzheimer’s at Shepherd of the Hills Living Center, Branson, Missouri.
Mary was a lunchroom assistant at Pontiac-William Holliday School in Fairview Heights, Illinois, for many years. She also relished being an election judge. She savored her children’s and grandchildren’s sports games, the St. Louis Cardinals, and college sports. She loved hanging clothes on the line to dry. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Cahokia, Illinois. She decorated cakes beautifully and sewed like a pro. She enjoyed her church family and was baptized when she was 78 years old. She spent 20 years eating lunch at the Branson Senior Center, greeting everyone that came in the door with a special smile and Hello. She never met a stranger.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold E Meyer; her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Crouch; her brothers: Charles, James, Elmer, Walter, Frank, and John Crouch; her sister, Virginia Stocker; her brother-in-law, Harold Stocker; and nephews: Bob, Mark Stocker, Michael, and Jimmy Crouch.
Mary is survived by her sons: Harry (Linda) Meyer, David(Gloria)Meyer, and John (Debbie) Meyer; daughter, Mary M Kring; sister, Alice Schilling; sister-in-law, Henrientta Crouch; and grandchildren: Lucas, Cody Meyer, Sheryl Rois, Joey Meyer, Levi Shrable, Ellie Rich, Bridget Meyers, and Cory Meyer.
There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. Mary will be inurned in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Branson Senior Center Board, 201 Compton Dr., Branson, Missouri 65616.
