Melinda Louise Canote

Melinda Louise Canote, age 71, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away May 13, 2021. She entered this life June 28, 1949, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Stella (Raley) Rhoten. Preceding her in death are her parents and her brother, Danny Rhoten.

Melinda invested 30 years of her life as a medical technician in nursing homes. Having a grandmother’s love, she was called “Nana” by her grandchildren. Melinda could be found watching crime shows on t.v., marveling at the birds at her birdfeeder, or talking to her beloved dog. She was a caring, loving, and sharing person who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her three children: Tim (Tonda) Canote of Las Vegas, Nevada; Amy (Greg) Robertson of Taneyville, Missouri; and Andy (Traci) Canote of Hollister, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Jeff (Makayla), Zach, Cody, Jake, Bryan, Julie, Jordyn, and Emma; two great-grandchildren: Emmet and Scarlet; and three sisters: Becky of Marshfield, Missouri, Amanda of Battlefield, Missouri, and Rachael of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
