Michael John Claflin

Michael John Claflin, age 65, of Blue Eye, Missouri, passed away suddenly at his home, June 11, 2021. He entered this life November 9, 1955, in Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and was adopted by Byron Claflin and Dolores (Kostesky) Smith and was raised by Dale and Dolores Smith, who have preceded him in death. He was joined in marriage August 8, 2018, to Kay Miller.

Michael was a truck driver by trade which introduced him to many people. He enjoyed helping others with whatever they might need. He always brought joy to those around him. Michael had the ability to lift the spirits. He had the personality and attitude for helping and loving on others as his Lord would lead. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Michael left a legacy of love.


Michael is survived by his wife of three years, Kay Claflin; two sons: John (Judy) Ruggero, and Joey (Chelsea) Ruggero; three grandchildren: Miles, Millie, and Mara Ellis; Jean “Aunt Sis” Smith of Texas; seven cousins: Kim Koester, Jan Harritt, J.L. Green, Larry Green, Ronnie Green, Rick Smith, and Steve Smith.
