Michael “Odie” Brett Oden

Michael “Odie” Brett Oden, age 38, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019. He entered this life September 9, 1980, in Grandview, Missouri, the son of Michael and Paula (Jarboe) Oden. His mother and grandparents have preceded him in death. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Being a people person, Odie thoroughly enjoyed being a bartender and sharing stories back and forth with the patrons. He was a friend to all and stranger to none. Odie would tell you exactly what you needed to hear and expected the same in return. His “Wolverine” haircut was a trademark that he wore with pride. Odie collected vintage video games, having a plethora of knowledge on video games, movies and books. His true passion was cooking, which he learned at his dad’s side while working in the family restaurant Odee’s BBQ, he took great pride in cooking for loved ones. He also enjoyed spending time with his dad, using his large amount of creativity with projects in the garage. Odie has left an impression on many hearts over the years and his memory will be in the minds of all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.

Odie is survived by his father, Mike Oden of Branson, Missouri; sister, Michelle O’Day of Branson, Missouri; sister, Alicia Oden of Springfield, Missouri; nieces: Madison and Shaylee; and many family and friends who whom were all dearly loved.

A celebration of life will be at The Paddle Wheel on the Branson Landing, Friday, September 13, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. There, friends will be able to come give him a toast and share stories and memories with all that loved him.
