Michael T. “Mike” Hayhurst

Michael T. “Mike” Hayhurst, age 59, of Lampe, Missouri passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 at James River Nursing and Rehabilitation in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born August 8, 1961 in Garland, Texas, the son of George T. and Elveta (Edwards) Hayhurst.

Mike was raised and received his education in Blue Eye, Missouri and graduated from Blue Eye High School, later attending School of the Ozarks for one year. Mike then moved to Texas staying until 1998 when he moved back to the Blue Eye area. He was employed with Ball & Prier in Golden, Missouri as a truck driver for several years. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, bowling and horseback riding. He had been a board member at McCullough Cemetery since 2011. He loved family life and just enjoyed life.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Surviving are one son, Victor Allen Null of Berryville, Arkansas; one brother, Gregory Scott Hayhurst and his wife Jennifer of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; two sisters, Joanne Zap and her husband Stephen of Rolla, Missouri and Louetta Gaye Plumlee and her husband Terry of Oak Grove, Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Kristen Conard, Matthew Plumlee, Corey Plumlee, Austin Boyle and his partner, Monica Godsey.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Thomas Hayhurst will conduct the services. Burial will be at McCullough Cemetery in Viola, Missouri.

Contributions may be made to McCullough Church in memory of Mike.
