Selwyn Lucille Glaze was born on September 9, 1936 in Marshall, North Carolina, the only child of Clinton Kelly and Selwyn Agnes (Roberson) Wilson. She was married first to her high school sweetheart Craig William (Bill) Reemes on May 10, 1956. They lived and worked first in Washington, DC and then in Denver, Colorado where their son, Thomas Joel Reemes, was born. They later divorced and Lucy subsequently moved to Springfield, Missouri with her son and met and married Wilbur M Glaze on Dec. 5, 1964. They lived in Springfield the remainder of their lives, he having passed away two years before her.
Lucy worked with Continental Trailways in Springfield, Missouri for 20 years. She was responsible for coordinating and accompanying motorcoach tours across the country and into Canada. She loved to travel, read and write. She was a strong advocate for alternative education and frequently took her son on the coach trips she conducted and exposed him to a much larger scale of learning experiences. She was a political advocate and wrote letters to her government officials when she saw things that needed to be addressed. Lucy also had a soft heart for cats.
Lucy is survived by her only son, Thomas Joel Reemes, and his wife, Monica, of Forsyth, MO, and a number of friends remaining in Springfield and across the country. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
