Nina Mae Alexander
Nina Mae Alexander, age 88, of Shell Knob, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Republic Nursing and Rehab in Republic, Missouri.
She was born February 14, 1933 in Akron, Colorado, the daughter of Leroy and Velma (Cox) Loney, who preceded her in death. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Clifford Wayne Collinge and to this union three children were born. In 1975 she was united in marriage to Hurley R. Edwards who preceded her in death in 1986. On September 24, 1988 in Springfield, Missouri she was united in marriage to Lonnie R. Alexander who preceded her in death in 2004. Also preceding her in death were one son, Kenneth Charles Collinge, four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one son, Daniel Ray Collinge and his wife Debbie of Springfield, Missouri and one daughter, Beverly Ann Rees and her husband Tom of Shell Knob, Missouri and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nina received her education in Baldwin, Kansas, graduating from Baldwin High School. While married to Clifford she worked in the restaurant business for twenty years. She moved from Springfield, Missouri to Shell Knob in 2011. She always said living in Shell Knob was the happiest time of her life. She was active at the Central Crossing Senior Center, enjoyed having lunch outings with her friends, reading and bird watching. But most of all, she loved Jesus and ministered to others through teaching and singing.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at First Christian Church in Shell Knob, Missouri. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob.
