Orville “Dean” Gamble

Orville “Dean” Gamble, age 83, of Ridgedale, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019. He entered this life November 6, 1935, in Chetopa, Kansas, the son of Orville and Mary (Tressie) Gamble. His parents have preceded him in death. Dean was joined in marriage March 8, 1958, to Shirley G. Toney. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Dean proudly served our country in the United States Army. He had a giving and compassionate heart and was a member of the Tri-Lakes Moose Lodge. Dean enjoyed fishing, canoeing, watching the Cardinals and Rams play, being with his family, and playing with the grandkids. He always had something to say and was happy to talk to people. The memory of times spent with Dean will be brought back many times for years to come. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dean is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Gamble; son, Orville Dean Gamble Jr. of Ridgedale, Missouri; son, Michael Lee Gamble of Frisco, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sheila Ellen Gamble of Frisco, Texas; two grandchildren: Lauren and Ryan; sister, Wynona Russell of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Verna Clark of Ridgedale, Missouri, sister-in-law, Brenda Morzek of Jefferson, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.

No services are currently planned. He is to be placed in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri at a later time, with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association ( www.act.alz.org) in his memory.
