Raul Huerta Diaz
Raul Huerta Diaz, age 73, of Branson, Missouri, passed away October 22, 2020. He entered this life December 6, 1946, in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Rosa (Huerta) Diaz. He was joined in marriage December 23, 1968, to Irma Huizar. Raul spent most of his life in California and lived in Branson, Missouri his last ten years. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Isaac Diaz; and cousin, Arturo Gomez.
With his Bio-Medical Engineering degree from Long Beach State in California, Raul fully utilized his gifts and talents for the benefit of many. His writing was published in the Los Angeles Times. Raul was instrumental in developing the pacemaker, insulin pump, artificial heart valve, and tubing for IVs. He possessed a magnificent sense of humor and loved telling jokes. Raul was always imparting his opinions and was sure to let you know. Most of all, he loved his family, sharing his love and jokes with all. He will be dearly missed as family and friends will treasure the memories.
Raul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irma Diaz; two sons: Raul Diaz of California, and Marcos Diaz of New York; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Diaz of Missouri; two granddaughters: Liliana Diaz of California, and Jadelund Diaz of Missouri; brother, Oscar (Pam) Diaz of Georgia; sister, Grace (Jim) Russ of California; five nieces: Elizabeth (Joe) Gonzales, Lusanna (Jonathan) Schurger, Shawnee (Sam) Nichols, K.C. (Tom) Carey, all of California, and Ana (Dani) Becker of Illinois; and cousin, Kathy Gomez and family.
A celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m., November 21, 2020, at First Presbyterian Church of Branson, Missouri, with Pastor Tom Wilcox officiating.
