Reva Jane Merryfield

Reva Jane Merryfield, age 89, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away May 16, 2021, at her home with family nearby. She entered this life July 29, 1931, in Sandy Mush, North Carolina, the daughter of Ross and Ruth (Black) Worley.
Growing up on a farm, Reva knew the meaning of hard work. She loved her time living there. Together with her twin sister, she also created arts and crafts that they sold at their flea market booth. Reva was a devoted, faithful member of the Methodist Church. She was a sweet and kind person who was a rock in the stream of life for all of us and will be greatly missed.
Reva is preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Keith Merryfield, and three brothers: Fred Worley, Luther Worley, and Paul Worley.
She is survived by her twin Retha Freeman of Flat Rock, North Carolina, North Carolina, and sister, Martha Ledford of Flat Rock, North Carolina, and brother: Dan Worley of Leicester, North Carolina. The father of her children, Felmet “Fred” (Sue Fitzpatrick) King. Her three children: Doug (Joyce) King of Leander, Texas; Gina (Jon) Martin of Austin, Texas; and Kevin “Kip” (Candy) King of Hollister, Missouri; two step children, Diane Capps (Richard) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Ken Merryfield of Sunfield, Michigan; six grandchildren: Jason King, Brian King, Kevin King, Alicia (Garrett) Gelles, Casey Krall, and Cody King; five step grandchildren: Donnie Thompson, Chad Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Shane Merryfield, Chase Merryfield; eight great-grandchildren: Kristen, Ashley, Bailey, Bryce, Josh, Finnegan, Rodes, and Danica; ten step great grandchildren: JJ, Chase, Mya, Carter, Karen, Brianna, Alyson, Codie, Mason, and Sophie; one great-great-grandchild, Elena.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer at Paynes Chapel and Cemetery in Sandy Mush, North Carolina. To make a memorial contribution, please make donations to Preferred Hospice www.preferredhospice.com.
