Richard C. Stevens

Richard C. Stevens, age 73, of Blue Eye, Missouri, passed away January 22, 2021, from a massive stroke. He entered this life November 21, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Theodore W. and Elizabeth (Reser) Stevens, who have both preceded him in death, as well as his brother, Theodore Stevens. Richard graduated from Will Rogers High School, class of 1967, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Following high school Richard joined the United States Army and served three tours in Vietnam as a sergeant. He was a helicopter pilot and communications man. Richard was joined in marriage February 14, 1982, to Mary Lee Smith and has been married for nearly 39 years.


Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Stevens; daughter, Stephanie Ann Stevens Matthews; son, Paul Martin Johnson Jr.; daughter, Krystal Lee Johnson; grandsons: Richard Stevens, and Tyler, Stephen, and Kenneth Matthews; great-grandchildren: Sophia, Neil, and Malikai Matthews; sister-in-love, Wanda Pedro; nephew, Theodore Stevens; niece, Betty Metzger; and great-niece, Christina Metzger; plus, many other nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.


A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at King’s Chapel Branson, 1839 W 76 Blvd., Branson, Missouri. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
