He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Marie Torres. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Richard Oakes

Richard Oakes was an outgoing man who loved a bad pun and never met a stranger. With an enduring affinity for the water, he spent over two decades in Florida before moving to Washington where he lived for fifteen years on a sailboat in Puget Sound.

He always enjoyed music and performing. His guitar was ever present, and he participated in countless plays and musical productions throughout his life. As consistent as his love of music and the water, so was his love of animals. Never was he without at least one animal companion, and over the years he provided a home for dogs, cats, a miniature horse, ferrets, cockatiels, goats, and one pelican.

He is survived by his three daughters: Deborah Cribbs, Denise Sparkman, and Diane Klein; two sons: Douglas Horner and Nathaniel Oakes; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
