Richard L. Puryear
Richard L. Puryear, age 79, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at his home.
He was born September 15, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas the son of Robert and Ida Belle (Maddox) Puryear. On April 3, 1981 in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Cindy Cummins, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Tony Puryear and his wife Lori of Bentonville, Arkansas and Matthew Puryear and his wife Michelle of Nashville, Tennessee; two step-daughters, Angela Fysh and her husband Martin of Franklin, Tennessee and Mandy Boring of Monett, Missouri; one sister, Sue Rotramel and her husband Clint of Wichita, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Linda Puryear of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Claire, Caroline, Connor, Charlee and Brittany and two great grandchildren, Zeke and Ensley.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Jerry Puryear.
Richard graduated from high school in Gravette, Arkansas and took some college classes but then joined the United States Air Force. For a few years he lived in California and moved back to Arkansas, later moving to Kansas where he worked for Emerson Electric from which he retired. After his retirement he move to Cassville and became a mail carrier for Washburn. He was a member of First Christian Church where he was an Elder and Deacon. Some of his favorite pastimes were playing golf and fishing.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
