Robert “Bob” Jones
Robert “Bob” Jones entered eternal rest on March 25, 2021. He was 72 years old.
Bob was born November 6, 1948 in Washington, Iowa to Arden “Pete” and Marjorie Jones. He graduated high school in Richland, Iowa in 1966. Bob received his bachelor’s degree from Laverne University.
Bob served in the Army from 1968 – 1970 and was deployed to Vietnam. He received two Purple Hearts, a Vietnam Campaign Service Ribbon, and a National Defense Service Ribbon.
Bob met the love of his life, Louise, in 1972 after her dad brought him over for dinner. They were married April 14, 1973. Together they raised two children, Andrea and Pete. They lived in California and Colorado, before moving to Branson, Missouri in 2009. Bob worked on the space program at Lockheed Martin and retired in 2009.
Bob was a Post Commander for VFW 1667, an Elder at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, and a scout master. He loved hunting, fishing, and telling jokes.
Bob was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Pete and Marjorie; his sister, Mary Katherine; and many other family and friends that preceded him in death.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Louise; and his children and their spouses, Andrea and Jason Pfeiffer of Blue Eye, Missouri, and Pete and Lauren Jones of Branson West, Missouri and grandchildren, Brittany Barens (Alex), Callie Pfeiffer (Shawn), Kelsey Pfeiffer, Jeanette Pfeiffer, and Elsie Jones, three great grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother Richard Jones, niece Nichole Jones (Max), best friend David Carver.
Friends may visit the family at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Kimberling City, Missouri at 11:00 am on Monday, April 12, 2021. A service will follow from 12noon – 1:00 pm with a private interment at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
