Bob Rasmussen

Bob proudly served our country in the United States Army. Known for keeping the fun going, he was always laughing and making people smile. In his later years, Bob was the guard for the school in Forsyth and got to know the kids as they passed by him daily. Many sad faces have been replaced by a smile, just by passing by Bob daily. He liked going to eat with his friends and neighbors, fishing, camping, and “motor-homing” (RVing). His life was a witness to others and an encouragement to many. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Bob is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joyce Rasmussen of the home; two sons: Robert Rasmussen Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, and Jerry Rasmussen; three stepdaughters, whom he claimed as his own: Wanda (Todd) Harang, Kathleen Smith, and Connie (Rick) Walker, all of Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren: Mark, Mia, and Devlin; and sister-in-law, Carolyn (Roy) Shimer of Johnston, Iowa.

A celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m., June 26, 2020, at the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 3196 State Hwy 76, Branson, MO, with Pastor Wendell Crosswhite officiating.

Inurnment will follow with full military honors at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.
