Robert “Buck” Brown

Robert “Buck” Brown, 62, of Rockaway Beach died Monday, July 1, 2019 at his residence.

A Gathering of Friends and Relatives will be held form 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, July10th in the Rockaway Beach Community Center.


Robert Russell Brown was born Friday, March 3, 1957 in Huggins, MO to Marion and Oda (Fletcher) Brown. He grew up in Higgins and in 1986 entered the University of Missouri for Law Enforcement Training. He then became a policeman in Waynesville, MO and later moved to Rockaway Beach where he was elected City Alderman. He was later appointed Police Commissioner for Rockaway Beach.


Buck always though he was right on any issue. He was a jokester, a kind man and wanted to help others. He was a member of the AMVETS of Rockaway Beach. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar. He thoroughly adored the grandchildren of Holly Brown.


He is survived by two brothers, Larry Brown and wife, Deborah of Waynesville, Clay Brown and a cousin, Holly Brown of Rockaway Beach.


He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Otis Brown and a sister, Clara Jean.
