Robert Glen Gustason

Robert Glen Gustason, age 77, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away on April 25, 2021. He entered this life on October 28, 1943, in Clinton, Missouri, the son of Glenn and Iola (Headley) Gustason, who have preceded him in death.

Robert proudly served our country in the United States Air Force as a decoder. With a soft touch and a careful hand, Robert devoted a lifetime in search of the perfect cast and the trout that had yet to be caught. He spent countless hours, fly rod in hand, chasing rainbow and brown trout in the brisk waters of Lake Taneycomo.

A craftsman at heart, Robert was a master of creating beautiful works of art at his fly bench. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. May his memories live on each time a stream carries the subtle rise of a feeding trout.

Robert is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gustason of Nixa, Missouri; son, James Gustason of Springfield, Missouri; and daughter, Aimee (Michael) Butler of Kirkwood, Missouri. He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Michael Butler Jr. and Madison Butler; and sister, Carolyn (John) McClaren of Springdale, Arkansas.

No services will be held. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
