Robert Lee Burrus
Robert Lee Burrus, age 68, of Sparta, Missouri, passed away in Springfield, Missouri, on July 26, 2019. Bob was born in Rock Island, Illinois, to Harold and Nita (Clouser) Burrus on April 29, 1951. He was joined in marriage to Beverly Jean Warner on June 2, 1973.
Known as a car and motorcycle enthusiast, Bob drove Camaros and Corvettes. He also owned seventeen motorcycles throughout his lifetime. He loved being outdoors and was a voracious reader. Bob earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and was a telephone lineman for AT&T. He deeply loved his family and loved joking with them. Memories of his life will be long remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parent and his in-laws, Ralph and Betty Warner.
Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bev; his sister, Karen (Jim) Hubbard of Grand Prairie, TX; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Mick) Menage of Dakota Dunes, SD; sister-in-law, Jan (Bill) Blue of Frederick, CO; and brother-in-law, Bill (Lori Briese) Warner of Phoenix, AZ. He also is survived by numerous other close family members.
