Roger Reinhard

Roger Reinhard, age 85, of Shell Knob, MO died on November 23, 2020. He was born February 23, 1935 in LaSalle, IL to Mabel (Erickson) and Lawrence Reinhard. He graduated from St. Bede Academy with the class of 1953. Roger worked at Alpha Cement Co. in Peru, Illinois before joining the United States Marine Corps in 1957. He was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay in Honolulu, Hawaii where he specialized in amphibious reconnaissance. After discharge from the Marine Corps, he married Joanne Gostomski on July 2, 1960 at St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle and they moved to Joliet, IL. Roger worked at Caterpillar for 32 years, retired in 1987 and moved to Table Rock Lake in Shell Knob, MO in 1992 where he fulfilled his retirement dream of living on a great bass-fishing lake.

Roger was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Men’s Club. He was an avid Cubs fan and was thrilled to see them win the World Series. He loved to hunt and was an expert fisherman, winning many bass fishing tournaments in his lifetime. Roger was an outgoing and friendly man who made friends with everyone he met. He thoroughly enjoyed his morning coffee klatches with friends and loved working parish cookouts and supporting other church functions.

Roger is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne; son, Kevin and his wife Beth of Foristell, MO and their children Melissa, Christopher (Rachel) and Lauren (Austin Mehner); daughter, Lynette and her husband David Jacques of Caledonia, IL and their children Nolan ( Brigid) and Stephanie; daughter, Jeanine Reinhard of Charlotte, NC; son, Keith and his wife Nancy of Elizabeth, CO and son, Greg and his wife Amy of Fulton, MO and their children, Brendan, Emerson and Ainsley. Roger is also survived by three great grandchildren, brother-in-law, James Towne of Peru, IL, sister-in-law, Gloria Reinhard of Sacramento, CA, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother, Ralph Reinhard and his sister, Sharon Towne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at 10:00 AM, with Father Bill Hodgson officiating, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24036 Farm Road 1255 (PO Box 229), Shell Knob, MO 65747. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9:00, with visitation immediately following until time of service. Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, MO. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the Hospice Compassus team and the personnel at Cassville Health and Rehab for their kind and compassionate care of Roger.
