Shari Lee Rains

Shari Lee Rains, age 59, of Shell Knob, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021 near Shell Knob, Missouri.

She was born December 30, 1961 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Charles “Andy” and Mary Margaret (Mitchell) Rains. On July 11, 1998 in Wichita, Kansas she was united in marriage to her soulmate, Kenneth Hayzlett, who survives. Also surviving are one step-son, Matt Weatherbee and his wife Tiffany of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Lynne Rains Carlson of Peculiar, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dakota and Maddie Weatherbee of Wichita, Kansas; a niece, Alexandra Carlson of Peculiar, Missouri; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends who loved her.

Shari was preceded in death by her parents.

Growing up in Chase County, Kansas, Shari received her education and graduated in 1980 from Chase County High School in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. She went on to receive her Bachelor Degree from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. She had many careers throughout the years and last worked as a Human Resource Director at Presbyterian Manor in Wichita. Shari and Kenny just recently moved to this area.

Some of her favorite things were riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle and hanging out with her friends and family. She volunteered with a Gordan Setter Rescue and fostered several Gordon’s that had lived their best life with her and Kenny. She loved all of her dogs, Gigi and Ryder Rains are the two at home who already miss her.

The family will hold memorial services at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob, Missouri.
