Shelley Sparkman, age 45, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born June 6, 1974 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Larry and Sherry (Davis) Leonard. On October 10, 1998 in Ellisville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Gamon Sparkman, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Samantha and Lauren, of the home; one brother; Lance Leonard and his wife Sarah of St. Louis, Missouri; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dave and Betty Sparkman of Cassville, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Drew Sparkman and his wife Vannessa of Cassville, Missouri; two nephews, Cyrus Sparkman and Asher Leonard and two nieces, Faith and Audra Leonard.
Shelley grew up and received her education in the St. Louis area, graduating from Lafayette High School. After high school she attended Southwest Baptist University receiving her Bachelor’s Degree and later earned her Master’s Degree from Washington University. For nineteen years she worked at Cassville Public Schools as a teacher and counselor and also worked a short time at Aurora School. Throughout her career she made a big impact on the many children she taught and mentored. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cassville. Some of the things she loved the most were her faith, her family, sports, children, volunteering and helping others.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 a.m. until Noon, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Cassville. Arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
