Shirley Ann Hehnke

Shirley Ann Hehnke, age 85, of Ridgedale, Missouri, passed away September 15, 2020, in Forsyth, Missouri. She entered this life August 12, 1935, in Grand Island, Nebraska, the daughter of Virgil and Vera (Neufind) Storrs. She was joined in marriage July 1, 1955, to Robert Neal Hehnke. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Sharing her gift of hospitality, Shirley possessed a talent for entertaining that was showcased when decorating for events, growing and arranging flowers, and greeting others with a warm smile. She enjoyed traveling around the country with the love of her life, Robert, in their motorhome. Shirley's loving heart held a special passion for puppies and children. Her life was all about others and their happiness. Many memories will be shared for years to come.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Wetzel; and brother-in-law, Howard Wetzel.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Hehnke; two daughters: Barbara Van Allen of Hollister, Missouri; and Cherylee (Edward) Fortin of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two grandsons: Philip (Chantel) and Robert; two great-grandchildren: Fauna and Felix; niece, Annette Wetzel; and nephew, Terry Wetzel.

A private family service will be planned for a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Taney County Animal Control and Shelter (www.taneycohealth.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
