Stephen “Shane” Gipson

Stephen “Shane” Gipson, age 61, of Branson, Missouri, passed away August 18, 2020, at his home with his wife nearby. He entered this life December 2, 1958, in Moberly, Missouri, the son of Howard and Shirley (Henry) Gipson. His parents and a sister, Mia Jo Gipson, have preceded him in death. Shane Gipson

Proudly serving our country in the U.S. Army, Shane was always protecting his fellow soldiers, earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a chef by trade and loved his ability to barbeque. Shane was a member of the Springfield/Branson Chef association, taking numerous awards around Southwest Missouri for winning contests and competitions over the years. He won Grand Champion at the Sertoma Summer Sizzler. Shane also took second place in the college Vocational Industrial Club of America (VICA) competition for his culinary arts. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Chiefs and Royals. There were tears of joy in his eyes when the Chiefs finally won the Super Bowl. With a generous heart, Shane would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His delectable food and loving heart will be remembered for years to come. He will be greatly missed.

Shane is survived by his wife of thirty years, Christina “Chrissy” Gipson of the home; three sisters: Carla (Justin) Green of Denver, Colorado; Debbie (Kent) Heaton of Mound City Kansas; and Odessa (David) Howard of Rogersville, Missouri; brother, Eric Gipson of Springfield, Missouri; nephew, Ben (Bessie) Gipson of Galena, Missouri; brother-in-law, Lester Gordon of Forsyth, Missouri; his cat, Bob; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A private celebration of life is being planned for a later time. To honor Stephen, please register to vote and then vote.
