Velma “Bibs” Lowry

Velma “Bibs” Lowry, age 88, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Connie Truss of Texas; her husband, C.A. Lowry; her son, John Lowry and one grandson, Nathaniel Valenzuela.

Surviving are two daughters, Lois Stewart and her husband Bobby and Jo White all of Wheaton, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lowry of Exeter, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Fred Lowry and his wife Reta of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Jason Newman, Izaak Davis, Austin Williams, Alex, Ana and Sean Lowry and eleven great grandchildren.

Bibs was born in Allamoore, Texas on November 6, 1931 and spent her life as a homemaker and a McDonald County School Employee. She was a vivacious, intelligent and spirited lady her entire life.

Per her request no funeral services are being planned. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Memorial donnations may be made to your favorite charity.

The family of Velma “Bibs” Lowry would like to express our profound gratitude to the Staff at Roaring River Health Care in Cassville, for their compassionate and excellent care of our loved one during her stay with you. You are all a shining example of what health care means.

We also wish to express gratitude to the Good Shepard Hospice Care Team who provided care and support both to our loved one and our family.
