Wayne Bennett Dewhirst

Wayne Bennett Dewhirst, age 82, of Blue Eye, Missouri, passed away August 28, 2019, in Branson, Missouri. He entered this life August 18, 1937, in Selma, California, the son of Fred and Eunice (Bennett) Dewhirst. He was joined in marriage July 10, 1987, to Betty Dahl. His parents and sister, Janice Dewhirst preceded him in death. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Wayne had quite the resume of owning and managing many businesses throughout his lifetime. When he was not working, Wayne loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved his dog “Yuki” and enjoyed cooking and eating good food. Wayne was a musician who played piano and enjoyed singing in his church’s choir. With his wife, Betty, he loved traveling and serving others with mission work. Wayne had a long life upon the earth and his memories will continue within our hearts for years to come.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty Dewhirst; daughter, Donna Dewhirst of San Jose, California; son, Derek (Emily) Dewhirst of San Jose, California; son, Andy Dewhirst; stepson, Stephen (Cindy) Dahl of Sammamish, Washington; stepson, Roger (Debbie) Dahl of Harrisburg, Oregon; stepdaughter, Shelley (Steven) Kaylor of Japan; stepdaughter, Lori Anne (Mark) Harpham of Eugene, Oregon; stepson, Jeffrey (Colleen) Dahl of Eugene, Oregon; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Crawford; and brother, Kenneth Dewhirst.
