William “Bill” Burton Waidner

William “Bill” Burton Waidner, age 74, passed away at his sister’s home in Walnut Shade, Missouri, on June 30, 2020. The son of Frederick and Carolyn (Cadwallader) Waidner, he was born on April 19, 1946 in Long Branch, New Jersey. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Bill Waidner

Most of Bill’s life was spent in the Chicago area. He was an accomplished rock and blues guitarist in the ‘60s and ‘70s in Chicago and Los Angeles. His love of fishing surpassed any of his other endeavors, especially “ocean fishing.” He and his cousin, George Finegan, began fishing at an early age and he knew then that this was what his love was. His passion for fishing spanned over 65 years and included times with George and his dear friend, Laura Kull. They spent many hours casting their rods in the New Jersey surf. His son, Randall “Randy” Waidner and his wife, Chris, were his greatest treasures, and he was so proud of their accomplishments. Bill was a good friend, father, and “big brother.” His presence will remain in our hearts always.

Bill is preceded by his parents, aunts, uncles, and two cousins.

He is survived by his sister, Shelley Kleypas; brother, Fred D. Waidner; and son, Randy Waidner.

Bill’s cremains will be taken to New Jersey at a later date. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
